Teya features

What Teya does, and why it matters day to day

Every feature here comes from Teya's own published information. We explain how it applies to the way your business trades — and where conditions apply.

Portable payments

Teya Pro is a handheld, battery-powered machine that Teya rates for 14+ hours of continuous use.

For your business: Take payment at the table, in a beer garden, at the door or at an event rather than sending customers to the counter.

Teya app showing sales reporting

Reporting and the Teya app

The Teya app and Portal show sales by day, machine and channel, compare trading periods and show payouts.

For your business: See your busiest hours and reconcile takings without waiting for a monthly statement.

Contactless, chip & PIN and mobile wallets

Teya machines accept contactless, chip & PIN and mobile wallets, including Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

For your business: Customers can pay the way they prefer, so you are less likely to lose a sale at the till.

Wi-Fi with 4G fallback

Teya Pro uses dual Wi-Fi with 4G fallback and comes with a multi-carrier SIM card.

For your business: If your Wi-Fi drops, the machine can switch to mobile data. Coverage still depends on your location.

Printed and digital receipts

Receipts can be printed on the machine or sent by SMS or email; Teya Pro can also share them by NFC tap.

For your business: Offer a paper receipt when customers want one and save paper when they don't.

Tipping and bill splitting

Tips and split bills are built into Teya machines, with separate receipts for each amount.

For your business: Groups can settle at the table without staff working out shares by hand, and tips are tracked in the app.

Payment links

Pay by Link can be created from the Teya Portal, the Teya app or the card machine, and sent by email, SMS or QR code.

For your business: Take deposits, phone orders and remote payments without needing a website.

24/7 support from Teya

Teya offers support from real people, day or night, by live chat, WhatsApp or phone.

For your business: Help is available outside office hours, alongside the advice you get from Business Genie Payments.

Settlement options

Teya settles card sales to your bank account the next working day as standard. Teya also offers everyday payouts that include weekends and bank holidays, and Instant Settlement into a Teya Business Account for qualifying businesses. Some options carry an additional charge and eligibility conditions, so we confirm exactly what applies to your business in your quotation.

For your business: Choose the payout pattern that suits your cash flow, with the conditions explained before you commit.

EPOS integrations

Teya publishes pairing guides for EPOS systems including Loyverse, StrataPOS, Firstware ePOS and CES Software, using app-to-app or cloud connections.

For your business: Your till and card machine can work together, but compatibility depends on your EPOS and its version, so we check it before you apply.

Our approach

A card machine is part of your customers' experience, so the advice starts there — not with a rate card.

Why Business Genie Payments

Advice first, then a quotation

Business Genie Payments is an independent authorised Teya partner run by Carl Daniel. You get a named adviser who understands payments and hospitality technology — not a generic sign-up form.

  1. 01

    Personal advice on suitability

Carl looks at how you trade and recommends the Teya setup that fits — including when a simpler option is enough.

  2. 02

    An honest statement review

We compare the total cost of your current provider, not just the headline rate, and tell you if switching doesn't look worthwhile.

  3. 03

    Help with the application

We help you prepare what Teya needs and keep it moving. Teya makes the approval decision.

  4. 04

    Two lines of support

Teya's own support team is available 24/7, and you keep a direct contact at Business Genie Payments.

Bespoke quotations

Why we don't publish a rate

Your business deserves a quotation based on how it trades. We consider your monthly card turnover, business type and payment requirements to help arrange a suitable Teya offer.

The cheapest-looking headline rate isn't always the lowest total cost. We look at everything you pay — transaction charges, rental, authorisation and monthly fees — so you can compare like for like.

Your quotation is built from

  • Monthly card turnover

The single biggest factor. How much you take by card each month shapes the offer we can help arrange.

  • Business type

How a restaurant, pub, shop or salon trades affects the risk profile and the right setup.

  • Average transaction value

Lots of small coffees and a few large bills behave differently, so the shape of your sales matters.

  • Card mix

The balance of debit, credit, business and international cards you accept changes the underlying cost.

  • Payment requirements

How many machines you need, where you take payment, and whether you need payment links or integrations.

Can't see your question?

Speak to Carl: 07786 235 819

Complete the short enquiry form or call 07786 235 819. Carl will ask how your business trades — your monthly card turnover, business type, typical transaction size and what you need from a card machine — and then help arrange a quotation from Teya based on those details.

Teya prices card payments on how each business trades rather than from a single price list. A rate that suits a busy pub may not suit a small salon, so any figure published here would be misleading for most visitors. We would rather give you a quotation that reflects your business.

Monthly card turnover is one of the most important factors. It indicates the volume Teya would process for you, which affects the offer that can be arranged. Business type, average transaction value, card mix and the equipment you need also play a part. If you are not sure of your figure, choose 'Unsure' on the form and we can work it out together from a statement.

Yes. Send us a recent statement and we will go through the total cost — transaction charges, terminal rental, authorisation fees, PCI and any minimum charges — so you can compare like for like. We will tell you honestly whether moving to Teya looks worthwhile; we cannot promise it will always be cheaper.

Often, yes. Choose 'New business / not yet trading' on the form. Teya will assess the application under its own eligibility checks, and we will help you prepare what it needs, such as expected card turnover and business details.

Teya publishes pairing guides for several EPOS systems, including Loyverse, StrataPOS, Firstware ePOS and CES Software. Compatibility depends on your EPOS provider and the version you run, so tell us which system you use and we will check before you apply.

Yes. The Teya Pro is a handheld, battery-powered machine with Wi-Fi and 4G fallback, so it can be used at the table, in a beer garden or at an event. Mobile coverage varies by location, so it is worth checking signal where you plan to use it.

Teya settles to your bank account the next working day as standard. It also offers everyday payouts including weekends and bank holidays, and Instant Settlement into a Teya Business Account for qualifying businesses. Some options carry an additional charge and eligibility conditions, which we explain as part of your quotation.

Apply for Teya through Business Genie Payments and, once your business has processed £1,000 in qualifying card payments through Teya, you receive £100. It is not paid on signing. The offer is made by Business Genie Payments, not Teya, and the offer terms apply.

Carl reviews your details and contacts you to talk through how your business trades. If you have a current statement, he will review it. You then receive a bespoke Teya quotation and, if you decide to go ahead, help with the application. Teya carries out its own approval checks before your machine is sent.
